All States Must Have Geology Gallery

The Geology gallery of government museum Chennai was refurbished.

The madras central museum in 1851 started with some collection received as gift from the madras literary society many times the galley was renovated. The refurbished Economic Geology gallery was inaugurated by Sri A. Sundara Moorthy Director General Geological Survey of India (GSI), Kolkata  and Dr.T.S. Sridhar. IAS presided over the function. Sri A. Sundara Moorthy says that 2 Geo park in TamilNadu,  All States Must Have Geology Gallery and every students should visit the Geology gallery. GSI was 162 years old it was started in 1851 and third largest department in the world..

   

The Geology survey of India has donated 23 objects and charts of great value and they are now with economical aspects which is a core of Geology..

          The refurbished Geology gallery includes Envoirmental Geology, climatology, palaeontology, Metals, Fuels, Rocks and Minerals of daily us about the Evolution and Extinction of the Dinosaurs are displayed in this gallery.
